NEW How can I maintain old records for inventory?

Do any of you know how long SCCM keeps stale records? I need to keep device records (User, last date used) for about 10 years due to inventory.

MEMCM itself will only keep the records for ~370 days. If you enable the data warehouse, it will keep the records for 3-5 years (if I remember right). So you might need to create a custom solutions for this. But I would start with the Data warehouse.

Yes, that option was brought to my attention not long ago, but MS says there is a builtin task that removes them after 3 years. I wonder if that can be changed.

So you will need to create a custom solution if you require 10 years worth of data.
