I am having problems with the Dell Pro Plus 16 (PB16250) during the use of a task sequence. I keep getting error 0xc0430001. The error message says that the operating system cannot be loaded because winload.efi is missing or corrupted.
  • New storage and network drivers have been added to the boot image.
  • A new boot image has been created.
  • The ADK has been updated to 10.1.26100.2454.
In the SMSTS.log I cannot find any errors. After the “Apply Device Drivers” step, the laptop reboots and immediately shows the error message.

The strange thing is that we have been deploying this model for about six months without issues. After a new batch ordered in 2026, the task sequence no longer works. I thought adding the new drivers would fix it, but unfortunately not.

Does anyone have any idea?

The fact that this happens at the "Apply driver settings" suggests that the driver pack is missing some key drivers (USB/SSD/chipset/storage). I had a similiar issue once with a storage driver that would no be seen by sccm during import if i had the checkbox "ignore drivers that are not storage or network". not exactly your issue but maybe get key drivers from the manufacturer and import them into the dell driver pack. Just my thoughts.

Thank you for your response.

I downloaded the latest driver pack for this model and also three family packs of the type “PB16250.” These appear to be updates outside of the standard driver packs for a specific model.

What I find strange is that after I got a BSOD, I started the laptop using a Hiren’s Boot CD. I can see the folder where all the drivers were copied to, but when I open Device Manager, there are many question marks. So the drivers are indeed not all installed. I assume they should have been installed after the “Apply Device Drivers” step?

However, I cannot add any more drivers, these are all the drivers I can find.
Only storage and network drivers should be included in the boot image, correct?

I have been working on this for days now and it is very exhausting.
