SOLVED Task Sequence OSD Failure at 0x80004005

Hello,

So i am trying to create a TS for a new Surface Pro which is just launched couple of months back. I am having the Windows 10 WIM file ready with the 1703 build captured on August 16, 2017.

I am having an issue in creating a Task sequence for it as it fails at the error 00x00004005 at the time of installing the application. I removed all the application and tried again which is working like charm, but as soon as i am adding the adding application TS, it fails at this error. So i added a restart mode after the Set up operating system step , but didnt helped. What am i doing wrong ?

Sorry..... the exact error code is 0x80004005

when you are running the task sequence do you get anything useful in the log?

Not really, i checked the logs and all i can see is Successful. I don't find anything Failure/Cancelled/blocked/incorrect parameter or anything. I checked further to this error and it all points to time and date stamp error , but its correct. I am in the correct timezone and its up to date. Not sure, if i am missing something.

This is the TS Editor i am running issues into. It runs fine until i reach the Install Microsoft Application and so i thought of adding a Restart step in between to differentiate the PE mode, but not helping.

error 0x80004005 is a generic error and only log files can tell us why it failed. May i know what apps have you included with TS ?. May be you could test the TS without adding apps to see if actually installs OS fine. Attach the smsts.log and appenforce.log files for further troubleshooting.

Hello,

The TS works fine if i change the sequence of the Setup Windows and Configuration prior to install application, it works fine. Thanks for all the suggestion, this can be closed now.
