Hi All,

I am running SCCM 1810 at work which was set up by my predecessor. He set up Windows 10 1709 in a task sequence which works fine

I copied and renamed the task sequence with the goal of changing the OS to a newer version

I loaded the OS into Operating system Images, distributed and deployed it

I can select the task sequence on install via PXE and the OS installs fine

Some of the apps don't install as in the original task sequence.

Any help or guidance will be much appreciated. I also posted another thread about my home lab.

Thanks

Greg

So is the precise issue that some applications are failing to install when using the copied TS?

Because of the large variety of reasons applications can fail to install you're really going to need to provide a smsts.log if you're looking for anything beyond general speculation.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delays but I got sidetracked by other pressing issues. See the attached log file as suggested.

Thanks!

That log contains entries that range from August 2015 through December 2018.
Either your domain time is wayyyy off or this is not the droid log we're looking for.

@Sam Banford , I am including the file yet again. I opened in notepad ++ and there seems to be some entries as new as yesterday near the bottom. If this however is not the content needed, where would be the folder where this file is normally nested?
Thanks!

Is this coming from %windir%\ccm\logs ?
There may be more depending on your TS:
  • Full version Windows before SCCM agent installed: c:\_SMSTaskSequence\Logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
  • Full version Windows after SCCM agent installed: c:\windows\ccm\logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
  • After Task Sequence has finished running: c:\windows\ccm\logs\smsts.log
