PENDING Systems Management Server cannot update the already existing object "SMS-Site-xxx" in AD

Running SCCM current branch single site - I have followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested in every forum post and Microsoft tech papers. Backed up my schema, then extended schema (while publishing from site server to AD was disabled) and did this with a Schema Admin account, verified that the Site server computer account has Full control over the Systems Management container, that the SMS-Site- object is currently located in the Systems Management container, etc... I still am getting this error. I am only about a month and a half into this SCCM learning experience so I know I am probably missing something and therefore, ANY help is appreciated.

Try extending the schema once again. Verify that the line "Active Directory Schema has been extended successfully" exisits in C:\extadsch.log file. Reboot the server and let me know if the error comes up again.

The Site Server need to have full control on the System Management container with all sub objects.
