Hi All\Prajwal,

We recently observed that most of our machines for Software update deployments are in unknown state.

We checked the ccmsetup.log to see if there is an issue with the client ,but we don't see any red flags.
Then we checked the ccmmessaging.log ,ccmeval.log & clientlocation.log for the messaging, client health status and client location. we don't get any error flags in these flags aswell.

We later checked the communication between MP,DP and Primary Site. Which also seems fine.
Then we checked the firewall and ports 80 and 443 are not restricted

Request all sccm enthusiasts to help us check further

I have the same problem. via uncle google, you can get the reasons why they are unknown via an internal report, monitoring/overview/reporting/reports/software updates - e troubleshooting/troubleshooting 1 - scan errors

The software updates deployment status shows as Unknown when the client system did not complete the software update scan or the site server did not receive the software update scan status from the client.
You should check the following logs (wuahandler.log, updatesdeployment.log and deployment updatestore.log for further troubleshooting.
