PENDING SCCM - Third Party Patching products

Hello there,

We currenty have the Ivanti Patch management add on for SCCM configured and it is now up for renewal.

I know that SCCM now has the ability to manage third party patching and before i made a decission i wanted to know what your thoughts were on SCCM for Third Party Patching is it something we could use instead of Ivant for SCCM?

All thoughts and comments welcome i need to make a decission in the next 24 hours.

David, it's my understanding that Avanti creates their own patch database catalogs even for applications where the manufacturer doesn't do so. (Autodesk products for example)
If you are patching things beyond Adobe* (Flash, Reader, Acrobat) you may need to keep using Avanti unless you are fine with creating manual deployments, then updating previous installations.
Honestly I find it quicker to update previous installations for Flash (PPAPI, Plugin) by downloading msi files from Adobe, than to use the third party update tools.
Not sure if this helps but it's my perspective.

You should explore the process on your site to see if it works or if the Avanti subscription is worth the $

@Edy - Yes I have worked on some of the manage engine products.

The product is good but you can use PCP instead of PCM and save some money.
