Hello,

I have server 2016, SCCM 1702 with the newest updates installed. We have a single server for SCCM which does everything, including the distribution point. I have captured a smaller 56GB image in the past and I am able to add it to the Operating System Images and deploy it through PXE and/or the Client. However, when I try our full size Windows Image which is 420GB with over 140 software packages, it says the upload is complete and successful. However, the .wim file is only 160GB. When I created a ghost image with high compression, the file is still over 240GB. Anyways, the .wim file is in the same location as the smaller .wim file that works, so I doubt it is a permissions issue. However, every time I try to add the file, it gives the, "Specified UNC Path does not contain a valid WIM file" error.

The SMSProv.log file shows the following error:

"Exception in SMS Provider!~~WIN32 Exception : ACCESS_VIOLATION~Description : The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."

Which is strange, since it is inheriting the same permissions of the .wim file right next to it in the same folder. It has the exact same share permissions and NTFS permissions as a file that works fine.

I have added the computer account for our SCCM server to both share and NTFS and given it full control, and I have done the same with the SYSTEM account.

I have also tried capturing the image again and copying the .wim file to the share again. Same exact thing.

I have read that there is no limit to the .wim file size, but it worked when the OS was only 60 GB or so, with around 15 programs installed. When I got it to 140 and 400GB or so, it does not.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
