HELLO
MY CLIENTS CONNECTING TO MY NEW SCCM SERVER CANNOT UPDATE FOR WINSDOWS UPDATE IN SOFWARE CENTER REQUIERED 0 , EVEN THOUGH THE NEW CLIENT ON NEW SCCM SERVER HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED, AS WELL AS THE NEW SITE. WHEN I LOOK AT WUAHANDLER, THE CLIENTS STILL POINT TO THE OLD WSUS SERVER. I HAVE DONE THE NECESSARY SOFTWARE UPDATE POINT, AND MY WSUS SERVER IS OK. OLD SERVER LEASVVMGMT10 NEW SERVER LEASVVMGMT30.ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

You are probably using GPO to point the clients to old WSUS server. Remove that GPO to get this issue solved.
Hi Prajwal I not removed gpo but set it to contact the new server.
What the bes tpractice remove it or modify setting to contact the WSUS SERVER ASS0CIED TO NEW SERVER ?
TKS

i do that now to deleted old persistent gpo who will target old wsus server
remove remaining WSUS registry settings after disabling or removing WSUS, you can use GPO Preferences to delete specific registry keys. This allows for targeted cleanup of WSUS-related settings that might persist even after unlinking the GPO

While you can use Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to configure WSUS, it's not recommended to configure WSUS settings via GPO when you're using SCCM for software update management. SCCM's Software Update Point (SUP) role, which leverages WSUS, automatically configures the necessary registry settings on client devices to connect to the SUP.

hi Prajwal ok I'm going to delete all the persistent GPOs that we can still see present in WUAHandler logs and I'll see if the client points alone to SUP without GPO because for your information, all my other sites go through GPO for updates that point to their WSUS servers attached to the SCCM server without any problem. Replacing an SCCM server that crashed poses in any case very big problems. My workstations have not been updated for 2 months and this poses a big problem tks for your answer
