Hello,

So we are trying to migrate off of an old version of SCCM, to do so we are going with the High Availability option so we can copy data easier and simply do the failover and be off of the old server, however I am having difficulty wrapping my ahead around what happens to the distribution point.

So HA requires there to be a remote share, which I've set up, but what happens with the distribution role? You have to remove it off the old primary before you migrate the content library for HA, but don't you need the distribution role to issue packages to clients? So do I put that role on another server and also migrate the content library to that server and then also put up a remote share for the HA cluster can use that?

I haven't worked on this scenario before. I recommend contacting Microsoft support for this. I will leave this thread open so that others can answer.

I got some clarification that I should add a DP group and have both of them in there, we didn't do that in the initial design, but it appears I have some scripting to dp.
