SCCM 1810
IP helpers for client lan pointing to DHCP server and PXE server (primary site, only SCCM server in setup)
NO DHCP options 60, 66, 67 for the DHCP scopes involved
(There was previously a WDS server utilizing DHCP options in all scopes. This service has been disabled)
Attempting to PXE boot and image an unknown computer
task sequence for the image deployment targeting unknown computers collection
PXE options setup including:
Allow this DP to respond to pxe
Enable unknown computer support
Enable PXE without WDS
----------------------------
I've verified PXE responder service is running
ports 4011, 69 both open, checked with netstat -an | findstr ....

I pxe boot a machine, and in the SMSPXE.log >

Errors:
<client's correct MAC address Parsed a discover/solicit packet>
Client is 32-bit, BIOS, Firmware
PXE::MP::GetMPListAndConnectionInfo failed; 0x80070490
PXE::MP::IsKnownMachine failed; 0x80070490
PXE::MP::GetMPListAndConnectionInfo failed; 0x80070490
PXE::MP::IsKnownMachine failed; 0x80070490

Client machine shows DHCP . . . . . . .
PXE-053

I found that the management point was not installed due to BITS feature not being installed. That's my fault for missing the prerequisite.
After installing BITS via cmdlet, the MPmsi.log showed successful

Do I need IP helpers on the lan where the pxe server lives? currently it only has helpers for dhcp, not pxe

Please help, I need to start imaging with this new setup.
Let me know what other logs i should be looking at.

IP helpers are required only when you have multiple VLAN's. If this is a single VLAN the pxe clients can discover the WDS.

Did you try uninstalling PXE, multicast and enabling it back ?. Also, on your pxe dp, can you open this?
Do I just reinstall Management point? seems to be installed properly now, per the MPcontrol.log
"Successfully performed Management Point availability check against local computer."

Yes sir, I've reinstalled PXE and enabled it with a reboot in between for good measure.
The PXE enabled primary site SCCM server is on a separate VLAN from the machine we're pxe booting.
So the IP helpers are needed.

client - server communication is working, I see the client in the smspxe.log

Upon trying the URL's you listed I get an error saying 403.4 Forbidden.
If I change the URL to https:// I get an error saying 403.7 client certificate required.

Edit: I ran a site reset which completed with no errors.
This weekend I'll be rebuilding the server from scratch without https.

Hello!! I'm having the same problem... I have SCCM and I recently updated it to 1903 and I'm interested on deploying Windows via PXE, I've configured an exclusive Distribution Point for this pourpose, I've distributed the updated ADK boot images, and operating system as everybody says, I've configured the IP Helpers on my subnet and the only that I got is:

PXE: Received packet from 172.16.36.1 (DHCP, 00:15:5D:66:02: D6, 172.16.120.13).

PXE::MP::GetMPListAndConnectionInfo failed; 0x80070490

PXE::MP::IsKnownMachine failed; 0x80070490

And I can't make it work... I've uninstalled and reinstalled PXE many times... reinstalled the DP and recreated the certificates... and after all I got the same results...

My Environment is the primary server "A", with:
Distribution Point (with HTTPS working fine)
Endpoint Protection Point
Enrollment point
Enrollment proxy point
Management point
Reporting Services
Service connection
Site Database
Siteserver
Site system
SMS provider
Software Update point

and the "B" server with:
Distribution point (PXE enabled)
Site System

Thanks in advance!
