I ran a deployment of my monthly Windows patches last week and made the mistake of suppressing restarts after installation. My maintenance window is each Thursday from 1 AM till 5 AM. Now I can see the patches were installed during the MW and all the servers just show pending restart.

So my question is will my servers reboot on this Thursday starting at 1 AM during their maintenance window from the deployment last week. Or do I have to somehow manually trigger a restart since there is no new deployment this week.
Running the Current Branch of SCCM 1810

thank you

No I don't believe that it will reboot on Thursday. So yes you will want to deploy a package to force the reboot on Thursday.

lol I asked the exact same question on a TechNet forum and get the opposite answer. I will update this week which of you were correct. Thanks

I just saw the same post and Jason did reply. It will depend a lot on the reboot coordinator. As such forcing a reboot with a package will not hurt. If anything it will help guarantee that the SU is applied.

I have no problem with the reboot just wanted to be able to anticipate it would happen or whether I had to force that to happen. I am looking at the reboot coordinator log on that device. Doesn't mean a lot to me.
Lots of entries like this.
LOG[CRebootRequest::GetPendingRebootInfo, Get NotifyUI = True]LOG]!><time="13:29:45.001+240" date="03-25-2019" component="RebootCoordinator" context="" type="1" thread="169308" file="rebootcoordinator.cpp:4125">

I wanted to update anyone who might have this issue. Redeploying does not work. None of my servers rebooted during their maintenance window with the deployment last night. So it looks like a manual reboot process is the only way unfortunately.

You can use the command Shutdown /r /t 0 to force a restart using a package.

Yep I am aware of that I was just hoping a simple redeployment would trigger it during their maintenance window each week.
