PENDING Alert me Upgrade Windows 1709 to 1809 X64 Enterprise

Hi, I been ask to upgrade Windows 10 1709 to 1809.

Any PC within the office I have created a TS to do this and Also created Service Plan which works perfectly.



The issue is that user which are on VPN I want to upgrade they machine but i would like them to install the upgrade from Microsoft update site rather then from SCCM server or DP.

Is this possible and how can I do this?

If you ask me, you can place a DP in the site where most VPN users are. Create a VPN boundary and add a the DP to the boundary group so that the DP will server VPN users.

I would suggest you work on bandwidth part because usually the VPN connections are slow.

At the moment VPN user are linked to Data centre (DC) site but DC has 30MB line.

Upgrading Windows 10 from VPN taken around 5-8 hours but it was downloading it from DC.

I was hopeing to get the policy for these PC from SCCM server but then allow them to download Updates from microsoft as it will be faster.

Is this not possible becasue we have WSUS server
