I am planning on upgrading from 2010 to 2107 and even though I have installed .NET 4.8 and rebooted the system twice. I see that KB4486153 is installed, but I still get the warning. I can't reinstall because the install package says that it's already installed. I know I can upgrade it without have 4.8 installed, but it is concerning and not sure how SCCM will react to having 4.8 on the server when it thinks a lower version is installed. Looking for some advise.

This seems to be a known issue for some users. ConfigMgr team is aware about this issue. For now, I can suggest you to ignore that warning and continue with the upgrade. The .NET 4.8 is the recommended version, and ConfigMgr 2107 will work fine even on .NET 4.6. If you have installed dot net framework 4.8, you don't need to worry, it's probably the issues with prerequisite check that it is unable to determine the 4.8 version - https://www.prajwaldesai.com/fix-sccm-dot-net-4-8-prerequisite-warning/

Thanks for the quick response. I couldn't find anything on it, so got concerned. Good to know I'm not alone. I will proceed with upgrade.

I've been using your guides for years. Thanks for all you do.

Did my upgrade last night same thing.

I have had the same problem in several ConfigMgr servers.
When I looked in the ConfigMgrPrereq.log file I could see that it was because it should not only be the Primary ConfigMgr server that should have .net 4.8 installed but also all the DP's that should have it installed. It might be the same in your environment.
Best Regards
Thomas
