I'm running Configuration Manager 2107 and I'm trying to create a new report with Report Builder 3.0 that will pull Dell warranty information from our endpoints. I am by no means well-versed in SQL, so it's like feeling around in the dark.

Each time I try to add the query to the dataset, I get this:

The queries that I've found online are about 10 years old, so maybe the object name has changed? Someone had mentioned that "KBSYS." is now invalid. I tried removing it and get the same message. Here's a query I've tried:

SELECT DISTINCT M.NAME AS MACHINE_NAME, M.CS_MODEL AS MODEL, DA.SERVICE_TAG, DW.SERVICE_LEVEL_DESCRIPTION, DW.SERVICE_PROVIDER, DW.END_DATE AS EXPIRATION_DATE
FROM KBSYS.DELL_WARRANTY DW
JOIN KBSYS.DELL_ASSET DA ON (DW.SERVICE_TAG = DA.SERVICE_TAG)
JOIN MACHINE M ON (M.BIOS_SERIAL_NUMBER = DA.PARENT_SERVICE_TAG OR M.BIOS_SERIAL_NUMBER = DA.SERVICE_TAG)
WHERE M.CS_MANUFACTURER LIKE '%dell%'
AND M.BIOS_SERIAL_NUMBER!=''
AND DA.DISABLED != 1
ORDER BY MACHINE_NAME, EXPIRATION_DATE DESC, DW.SERVICE_LEVEL_DESCRIPTION

Any help would be much appreciated.

Does that query even apply to that tool? It is NOT supported query the tables within CM? Based on your other post, it is unclear if you have even collected the warranty for your computer. Until that is done there is no point in trying to write a report. https://forums.prajwaldesai.com/threads/problem-using-dellwarranty-cli-exe.4746/
I am in the process of collecting the warranty information via the Dell Command Monitor that was deployed to all Dell machines on our domain. About 30 machines have received the package thus far and I can pull their warranty information by right-clicking on each individually (which is not optimal) and going to Start -> Resource Explorer. I just need a way to gather the dates in a report so that I can submit it to my manager.

so now you need to determine with the SQL view is called the view name will be very similar to what is listed within resource explorer.

Thanks for the help, but I've opted instead to use a SQL query to create a report based on BIOS date. Turns out, my manager was only interested in approximate age of the computers to facilitate funds for a refresh of hardware that is over 3 years old. This is what I used. Looks like you were part of that conversation too.

Keep in mind that I work for Recast Software (Enhansoft), but if that is what you are looking for.
The warranty component of Endpoint Insight. might be useful to you..

Thanks for the information. I'm familiar with Recast Software. We use the community edition of the Right-Click Tools. We were looking at upgrading to the enterprise features, but got hit with a budget freeze.

FYI only, RCT and Endpoint Insights are not the same thing. They are two different products.
