Hello all, we are facing some issues in regards of our SCCM server since the move from one ESXi Host to anaother ESXi host. Since then all the clients are not able to install software, they inventory gets actualize but the software is not possible to be installed.
On the other hand on the SCCM Server directly i am able to install software from Software center. Any idea here what we can check. Form the logs there seems to be not issue. Thank you.

Have you assigned a static IP to SCCM server ?. I suspect the clients may have lost communication to Management Point server. Start by checking the site status in the console -Monitoring\Overview\System Status\Site Status

Hello, yes its a static ip assigned to the server. The site server itself looks good to me:

I also disabled the Firewalls. All this since i moved the SCCM Server VM to another host.
More information. I noticed that i cant also RDP to the server anymore, either with IP or FQDN. But i can access the shares of the sccm server, without any issues.
On one of the DC i was able to install a package, but not on other servers or clientes. Any tink i can check on the client side? Any Report?
Thank you all again for the assitance here in this Forum. Absolutly great..

Ok in your initial thread you mentioned that clients are unable to install software. What error do you see and did you examine the appenforce.log ?. Can you log in to a computer and check actions tab under Configuration Manager properties. Do you see all the cycles ?

Hello, thank you for your quick reply. I am able to see all cycles as also the site server

From a client i can access the software shares of the sccm server.
I dont realy got an error, simply after one sec. it says failed an i can retry to install the software.
It simply sayy, no changes to teh software can be done. Try later.(translated)

Hello Michael,

Was this a live migration or offline migration. When you did the migration did you shutdown/Disable and then stop all the SQL and SCCM Services on the server.
We had the same issues with one of our secondary we ended up re-creating a new server. We did on another secondary server we shutdown/Disable and then stopped all the SQL and SCCM Services on the secondary server and then after migration we turned back on and ran the replication analyzer to bring back the replication.
In the primary server can you check if all the components are up and running fine and re in green. If not can you try to manually bring up and then check if clients are able to install or not.

@Prajwal Desai -- Is there any document that we need to follow when migrating Primary DC from one environment to another environment. We are also in Plan to Migrate our Primary from one part of US to another Part of US. If you suggest i can send you a seperate message and discuss about this.

Hello vin418, thank you for your feedback. The Server was shutdown before the move.

the only error i see on the site server is the following:

not able to set them green.

Strange here is that a DC is able to intall software from the site server, other Servers or clients not.

Hello Michael,

Was the move from One area to another area i.e. One part of the Geo to another Geo. If that's the case then static ip could have also been changed.
Forgot to ask, is the SQL also located in the same box or different box.
On the new ESXI, are all the drives in same order as it was in old esxi.
What is the status of MP_Control_Manager, is it online or offline. If Offline can you try to bring online.
Filter based on Availability so that you can look which one of them are in Offline and in red.

My best suggestion would be to open up a case with MS side by side and till to time you may gather information from here also.

Hi vin418, thanks for your feedback. Actually the ESXI server are in the same Server room. What we did is only to move the SCCM Server and 2 others to another ESXI Host. And this we did with vSphere. The SQL is the one of the site server, not a seperate solution (Costs :) ).

The MP Control Manager seems to be online

In the logs i am not able to find anythink. No Errors
Not sure if i am looking right or not in regards of the Control Manager and if its online. Can you let me know where to look maybee correctly? Thank you again in advanced.

Hello Michael,

You may check all the status at Console >> Monitoring >> System Status >> Component Status.
There you will be able to find whether MP_CONTROL_MANAGER is online or showing offline.
Last check but not sure if that could be a cause of issue or not, did you get the chance to check whether machine is having any dns issue or not.
Can you check ping -a IP Address , Ping Hostname, nslookup hostname and nslookup ip_address.
If any issue there, then would request you to connect with DNS team and ask them update the DNS record.

Than you vin for your assitance. To anwser your question, the machine is reachable via ping nslookup. No DNS issues. The MPCM was online.

As this seems to not having a solution, i decided to restore the machine back to the original ESXi host. Now everythink is working fine again. I will analyse what the issue was and will try to move the SCCM again to the other ESXI host, later on.
Thank you all for your assitance on this topic. Keep going on this great forum.
