SOLVED Windows 10 inplace upgrade failed with error code 0x00000A58

hi
am one of your top followers on your website but have being having an issue in which i tried to do a windows 10 inplace upgrade but during deployment to client i keep getting issues with vnext upgrade has failed with the error code (0x00000A58) have tried everything is not working. Below are the error i copied out from the smsts.logs

Failed to run the last action: Recover from Setup Failure. Execution of task sequence failed.
Unknown error (Error: 00000A58; Source: Unknown) TSManager 4/13/2016 10:38:09 AM 1304 (0x0518)


The execution of the group (Upgrade the Operating System) has failed and the execution has been aborted. An action failed.

Error: 0x4005(16389)
 
Hi Perumal,

Before you upgrade check/change on the client machine the Region Settings and Language in Control Panel it has to match to the OS you are trying do deploy.

I verified the Region\Language settings but still unsuccessful. I made both according to English India and again deployed but the same error
Any other suggestions.
 
I agree with what Angelo said. Check if any security software is preventing the upgrade.
Hi Prajwal , I have same issue during the upgrade win 10 from win 7. I have also uninstall AV but still issue is same.
May i know how to find out incompatible software in windows 7 so i can remove it before upgrade.
 
Dear Dhaval, How to fix this problem. I have the same error :(

But when ı installed new windows 7 computer then deployed is ok ı cant see any problem.. But when ı did try old computer ı did saw the same error.

Help me dear Prajwal...

Hi Prajwal ,

I am running INPlace upgrade for winodws 10 1809 to 1903 and its running fine for most of the machines , but only few machines throwing some error (0x00000A58 task sequence error)(error: 0x4005(16389) ) , looks its because of Incompatible application .

Is there any way to find that application list on any log file like(smsts) ?

Hi,

You can check the setupact.log log file located on : "C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setupact.log"

If you have any Endpoint Software on these machines, try to uninstall it and run again the TS.
