PENDING TLS 1.2 support as well as all hotfixes released to date - CM 2002 (an old one)

Hi,

I am installing one CM (binary files) server 2002 with a remote SQL Server 2017.

CM (binary files) with these components:
S.O. --> Windows Server 2016
Config Mgr v 2002

Remote SQL Server 2017
S.O. --> Windows server 2019
SQL Server 2017


When I run the prerequisite wizard in the CM (binary files) I've got this message in the CM server:
"Configuration Manager sites require a supported SQL Server Native Client version.
To enable TLS 1.2 support, you must install a supported version of SQL Server Native Client on the specified site server. For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2026746"

The former message refers to a site server. I suppose in my case is CM (binary files) server because the other one is site database server

So I checked this information:

My question is what update do I need to apply and to which server?

Maybe to my local CM binary server (site server) or maybe to my SQL site database or to both of them

Hi There,

first of all you should check your native client version in SQL server, go through the below link and check your current version of SQL Server already has support for TLS 1.2. Link
Update should be apply to your SQL server

Yes I did it. It is supported

I think steps to fix my issue were:
- enable TLS in the clients
- enable TLS in both Server (Binary Server and SQL Server)
- Test it
