Hi all,
I am new to SCCM. This is the first task given to me for creating a SCCM sequence for Windows 10 installation for a number of different hardware. I was able to run the sequence fine with all my tests until one fine Monday it decided to stop working. Here is what happens.
I PXE boot the hardware and select my sequence. it downloads and applies the OS. It moves to the next step where is detects the hardware and installs drivers from the respective driver category/package. It then, before going to the next step, tries to restart the hardware (this is on its own and no restart step has been added to the sequence yet). Before it restarts it simply throws an error (0x00000032) and the sequence fails. if i restart the OS applied works fine and the settings are where they are expected to be as per the sequence after Step 2 driver install.
I pushed driver install to step 3 and made Configuration Manager install as step 2. Same thing happens. Step 1 fine, goes into step 2 installs Configuration Manager and tries to restart on its own and throws the same error message before restarting. When i restart the OS is fine, no drivers as expected and Configuration Manager is installed and working fine.
In both the above situations all logs files are clean, no yellow or red lines anywhere.
At the end of step 1 I manually added a restart and now the failure happens at the end of step 1 and does not proceed with step 2 at all. This time the error is 0x80004005. After restart as expected the OS is working fine, added to the domain, no drivers or apps installed. Again logs are all clean.
This very task sequence work perfectly fine on a VM but have tried on several different hardware make and models but fails with the same behavior.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
