PENDING Sync failed: WSUS update source not found on site

Hi Prajwal

I installed and configured VMware in that I installed SCCM 2012 0n windows server 2012

my main host os in windows 2008 and I shared Wi-Fi local area connection within virtual machine and internet working fine

though its my personal Wi-Fi there is no Proxy server, I went through software update point and add windows 7 product then I synchronized software updates after that I did not see any available software's

I had an error in log file Sync : wsus source not found

you mean SQL your asking for ? its SQL 2008

During you installation of wsus, did you point to the SQL db or used a path location?

I follow the same process which Prajwal guided on his block to install wsus

on database instance selection I have given machine name\instance name
and also given path name at content location selection

Are you able to get good result from the ping command when you ping the WSUS server.

My Problem:
- SUP could connect to the local WSUS server, but the Database instance would not be detected for SUP.As a result, it also showed the error message: " remote configuration failed at the WSUS Server."

Solution:
- Even thought Prajwal told us to cancel the post-installation, we still have to run the installation as WSUS is not fully installed.
1)To do so, go to Administration Tools, WSUS, do everything until you get to the part where you choose the products, and once there cancel it.
2) Open up the WSUS console, and click synchronize.
3) Let it synchronize with Microsoft Update for few minutes.This is done to give WSUS a little push , so we will be able to do it from SUP.
4) Go through the SUP installation guide( if you haven't done already)
5) Synchronize
