PENDING SUP won't connect/configure WSUS - WSUS update source not found -

Hey everyone. I took over WSUS installed on an SCCM Server with the SUP role installed. WSUS was pretty FUBAR from years of neglect (updates never being declined/cleaned-up, no SQL database maintenance, etc.). I was trying to get Patch My PC installed and running, and after a week of wrestling with it, we decided to blow away the WSUS role and DB and start over.

So, I removed the roles and features, detached the DB, deleted the DB file, deleted the WSUS site and pool and rebooted.
I re-installed the roles, negotiated a bunch of errors to get the DB recreated in SQL, ran through a small intial sync in WSUS, all good

Well, I feel like I'm super close now, but I'm still running into errors trying to get SCCM to configure WSUS

I've already confirmed the ports match and the bindings in IIS are set properly
I've already confirmed SSL is enabled in both WSUS and SUP
I've confirmed the SCCM server's computer account has SA to the SQL database
I've confirmed the SSL cert is valid and the chain is validated and trusted
I've confirmed the WsusPool settings (queue and private memory settings)
I've double-checked the WSUS Administration IIS sites to ensure the auth and SSL settings are all correct
I've reinstalled the SUP role on my SCCM server

Yes, I did complete the post install tasks. SUSDB is present in SQL.

So, I'm not sure what happened overnight, but, I checked the logs and this seems to be resolved. Before signing off last night I did the following:

• Disabled third-party updates in the SUP SCCM role
• Disabled publishing of third-party Updates and ConfigMgr Apps in Patch My PC

Syncs were still failing at that point, but, at 2:16 AM CST the sync just started working again...

I have one more question if anyone's willing:

While I'm successfully syncing, there's still a lot of updates showing under All Software Updates in SCCM from the previous WSUS server configuration. When will those go away, or is there any way for me to clean them out with a script or something?
