Hi,
My ReportServer_Log is approaching 1TB. My recovery mode is set to full. I did not know about this until running out of space.

I tried to shrink the database per instructions on your blog linked below, but its status is waiting for log backup: 5 ReportServer LOG_BACKUP
I am afraid to backup the transaction log in SM Studio because I don't have a TB in space to back it up to. Is there another approach or can I change to Simple Recovery? Would that delete or shrink the log? Can I just delete the log after switching to Simple Recovery. I already backup the database daily with a task and then fully backup the server nightly.

Solution
Change your Reporting db to simple recovery mode and <wait 10 minutes> then shrink it.

Thank you, that worked.

As a SQL novice I'm not sure of all the ramifications of some of these actions. Especially in relation to SCCM.

Did the log file size get out of hand because I was backing up the SCCM Database with a daily task, but not the report server database?

There are NO ramification on SCCM server / service if you set reporting to a simple recovery mode.
