Hi,
I’ve inherited the End User Computing side of things in a new job and have been through the motions of setting up SCCM for software/os deployments with no issues.
I’m not bad with the install and setup of the majority of SCCM components going back to SCCM 2007, but never had to work with the WSUS side of things as this has previously been setup or a 3rd party tool had been used.
Presently, there is a WSUS server that patches the server environment which is just using the local MS WID database. I’d like to integrate the software updates into SCCM for my Win10 clients from this WSUS server, but I have two questions:
1) Is it possible to use this server with it using a local DB rather than full SQL?
2) Will this break the functionality for the patching of servers from this WSUS sever? (Servers remain outside of SCCM so would still need to report to WSUS directly).
Worst outcome is I can install the WSUS role on my SCCM box and keep the two setups separate, but just though I’d try to utilise some of the existing infrastructure.
Thanks,
Graeme
