PENDING Server patching no longer working correctly

Hi All,

I have around 130 windows servers 2019 to 2022, seem to have developed an issue over the last few months,
our parches are set to ( or were set to) either download - install - reboot at a set window time or download - install - not reboot (manual reboot)
now this has never successfully worked for server 2022, it sees the patches and downloads, but never installs and reboots or no reboot (depending on group)
which really grinds my server tech's cogs... now it appears the maintenance window for other servers is now being ignored and they are randomly being rebooted after 5pm.
one of our sticky fingered techs has been in there and fiddled but he cant remember what.

So I really want to start from scratch with the server patching,
I want to have the patches download and install and either reboot (thurs 1-6am) or just download and install them and manual reboot
It used to work perfectly until server 2022 was introduced to the network/patching and it got "played with"

I have been looking for an up-to-date guide to start over with the server patching..

any pointers would be great!

What do the logs say? What makes you think it was ConfigMgr that did the reboot? What troubleshooting have you done already?

Well nothing really in the logs as such, nothing looks out of place, normally the patches download and install and then wait for reboot if they are in the manual reboot group, now it just says there are updates, but doesnt install them until you log on and click the install button, I ant see what has changed, but its a bit frustrating on so many servers
