Hello,

Over the summer holidays, I set-up SCCM and deployed SCEP to a few machines. To cut along story short, it didn't work out as planned and I decided to pull the plug on it and use a different anti-virus solution.

I removed the group policy that was in place to install the software and as I was pushed for space, I had to remove the VM that SCCM was installed on.

I noticed, even after I had uninstalled SCEP and rebooted a computer, it was being installed again. There wasn't much information to go on in the Event logs so I removed the share where the MSI was located thinking that would definitely resolve the problem but it hasn't.

Even now, with no server running SCCM, no MSI on a network share to install, if I uninstall SCEP, 30 minutes later it's installed again - the machine hasn't even been rebooted so I don't think it's GP related.

I realise now I should have removed it through GP but can't go back. I don't even have a copy of the VM to import. How can I stop it from being installed? Where do I start log wise to work out what's happening?

Many Thanks in advance.

I managed to resolve this and it was actually quite straight forward.

(quite annoyingly) the Configuration client doesn't appear in add/remove programs - I had completely forgotten it was installed and therefore it was responsible for reinstalling SCEP as the MSI's resides in the CCMsetup folde.

From the command prompt, execute C:\Windows\CCMSetup.exe /uninstall to uninstall the software

Silly mistake - easy fix. I can't see how to mark this job as fixed.
