Do you use proxy server in your setup?. When was the last time the sync had worked and if it had worked, then check what changes were made. You must involve your network admin here.

Yes, we use proxy. I had dived into it and found out that the WSUS was configured in the primary site. It was initially configured in distribution point server, and it had stopped. I stopped on the primary site and restarted in the DP. Everything works now.
