Hi all!

So we've been encountering some difficulties with building HP 845 G9's via PXE. The same DP is able to build all our other devices (HP G6-G8) with no issues at all, and all other DP's are able to build 840 G9's, however with the G9 845, after the initial PXE boot loads WinPE with our custom image, it hangs for roughly 30 seconds and then the device restarts.

I have attached the SMSTS.log below, but the main error that keeps appearing is this:

I have tried creating a new boot.WIM and injected almost all the drivers supplied by HP here: https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/softpaq/WinPE10.html, along with adding the driver directly from the 845 driver pack and connected this to a new test task sequence, with the same results. I have also tried the following:
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

i think it is a network issue (on the switch not the laptop). is it possible for you to enable portfast on the switch port you connected to ?
you can also try creating a booting iso and boot your laptop to see how far it goes.

Hi All,

Have you managed to get the 845 G9 to PXE boot yet?

I've tried updating wim with the WINPE driver but still no luck.

The machine reboots shortly after the WinPe loads.

Thanks.

if the boot image is updated with latest drivers, I recommend checking with HP support once.

Please follow the steps provided in the link - https://forums.prajwaldesai.com/thr...file-exit-code-14-0x8004016c.5801/#post-22175

If it is not working, please download all network drivers for the particular HP model from HP drivers support and paste them into a separate folder. Then, navigate to "Operating Systems" -> "Drivers" in the SCCM console, right-click, and select "Import". Import the network drivers from the downloaded folder and add them to the existing driver group. Once done, go to "Redistribute" the driver packages. Afterward, go to "Boot Images" in the SCCM console, right-click on the boot image, select "Properties", go to the "Drivers" tab, and add the missing network drivers. Finally, redistribute the distribution point.

Hi All,

Last week I sat manually testing the drivers to see if I can get a IP when loading the WinPe2.40 drivers.

None of the network drivers worked, but there is something named “AMD_USB4_1.0.0.21” which worked. Note this is included in the WinPE2.40.

I was able to successfully build this machine after injecting that driver into WinPE.
