Hello,
On behalf of a client, I updated their SCCM infrastructure which was composed of a standalone Microsoft 2008 R2 Server with SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 installed, with SQL Server 2012 SP1.
To do so I create a new VM, installed with Server 2012 R2, and did a bunch of changes of domain membership, servername, and IP addresses, in order to replace the old 2008R2 box with the new 2012R2 box. Then I installed SCCM and SQL in the very same version as they where on the previous box, and restore the backup of the old SCCM and DB on this new server.
And everything went fine, I upgraded SCCM from 2012 R2 SP1 to SCCM 1511. And everything seems fine, I had some adjustment to make, in order to make SCCM working with WSUS on the 2012 R2 and so.
But as I am trying to update the 1511 version to at least the 1602, I found nothing in the console, but even more odd, the ribbon do not display any "Update and Services" related items. I tried the UpdateRing powershell scripts, but nothing changed. But if I check the DB I have entries about ALL the update, from 1602 to 1703, even in the EasySetupPayload folder, the files are downloaded, but nothing showed in the console.
I suspected a rights issue, so I double check but my user got the Full Right treatment and still nothing showed in the console. The same thing happens on a remote console or on the local console.
Any one encounter this issue?
Thanks
PS: I already have posted this on technet forum without any convincing answer, so I'm trying this forum that have been really helpful lately.
