I have configured boundaries with the correct distribution points and management points (added as references) however when I deploy clients they talk to a completely different MP. I don't want to deploy the clients with SMSMP=<server name> (via the config mgr console) as that's a really static way of doing this

Boundary A has the primary site server & a DP in it (2 servers)

boundary B has the other management server and a dp (2 in 1)

The clients in question come up under AD Site A which has boundary A (references) assigned to it but they talk to management point that's in boundary B

any ideas what else I can do?

yes, i got this resolved by checking the option "clients prefer to use management points specified in the boundary groups". After enabling this option it worked fine.
