I work for a school district that has 42 schools. Each school has their own cost center number. In SCCM each school has their own custom collections.
At the end of every month my manager wants a report on several things, one such thing for example is how many computers do we have that are still at Windows 7 Professional. I have a collection that does this and basically what I do to get the manager his report is cut and paste the info from each school and put it in Excel.
Now I know there is a better way of doing this. There are about 10 criteria that my manager wants and I do all of it by cutting and pasting into Excel for the 42 schools I have. You can imagine how long this takes me.
I have messed with Report Builder 3.0 and I can get the query to work, but getting it to where I can just choose a collection I want the report for has proven to be quite difficult for me. So basically I want it to prompt me for a collection to choose and then give the results from the chosen collection.
I have spent the entire day today trying to figure this all out and haven't been very successful. If anyone could assist I would be greatly appreciative. I think I understand the concept of what needs to be done but not necessarily how to join the parameter to the original query. Thanks anyone in advanced.
Sincerely frustrated,
Rich
