PENDING New updates showing as expired in sccm

SCCM lost connectivity with WSUS. Tried trouble shooting for a week and then uninstalled WSUS role from SCCM Server 2012 R2. Re added the feature/role WSUS using same external SUSBD on a separate server. After installing the WSUS role I had also removed the SUP from the SCCM server and re added it. After connecting new updates showed up in WSUS. But the same updates are showing up as expired in SCCM. Please HELP

Try removing all expired updates within any update list, update package, or update advertisement/deployment, and try a resync.
