New to SCCM

Hi All, I have been working with AD from last two years and want to work in SCCM. I saw Prajwal's documents for SCCM and hope they are good(new to this field). Could anyone please let me suggest me, whether i should do self study or i need to go for proper training via some institute, if yes then which institute will be good in Delhi. A BIG APPRECIATION TO PRAJWAL FOR DOING SUCH A NICE JOB AND MAKING OTHERS FUTURE BRIGHT. KEEP IT UP

Before you start to consider home study you have to consider the hardware and software you will need. To study SCCM you will need quite a good system that can cope with virtualisation. You will need servers for AD and SCCM as well as a few for clients and also for sequencing so you are looking at running a minimum of 4 systems at any and thats not including moving onto SCVMM and the rest of the System Center Suit off apps. So I would recommend a separate computer something like a HP Z600 wit 2xQuad Xeon 56xxx as it takes cheaper registered memory, I just bought 32Gb for £40 !!!

I am also new to SCCM having spent the last couple of months installing all the suit (including WAP Azure) and clients in win 7/8/10 as various versions behave in different ways. I also run VMWare workstation as my preference of choice for the virtualised environment as I use the system for other things besides but then have a second system that runs SVMM with HyperV so I can incorporate SVMM into the study as Iget more familiar and proficient with the suit. All the components run SQL so tey need a minimum of 2 cores each and 6Gb - do not run sql install with 4Gb it is painfully slow you can reduce it later but for install make sure you have atleast 6Gb dedicated to the server build. Building your own system is the best you will learn more and under your own steam and speed and in the end understand better how it all fits together. Snapshots are critical as is cloning to save you time building each server and the clients. t is not difficult but it can be time consuming understanding each prerequisite and making sure everything is as it should be.

System 1 VMM and OM
System 2 SCCM SM WSUS
System 3 DPM
System 4 DWM (Data warehouse Management)
System 5 AD DNS and other server components#
System 6 WAP (Azure) in the DMZ with CAS
System 7 Exchange (I actually have 3 exchange boxes 1x2010 2x2013)
System 8 Sharepoint - this is a mine filed cos you cannot use 2013 for some components.
Then you have all your clients you need quite a few
