PENDING Minimal install guide for SCCM OSD for MDT users?

If you are going to use SCCM as an MDT replacement (Only for OSD) do you need to create a Management Container for SCCM and Extend AD Schema?
Since MDT support is ending OCT 2025 it would be nice is there was a guide to switch from stand alone MDT to a minimum install of SCCM for operating system deployment

If you are going to use Configuration Manager to "manage" your endpoints, extending the schema is a prerequisite. When you extend the schema, it adds new classes and attributes to the AD schema, enabling SCCM to publish information about its site, clients, and resources within Active Directory, facilitating client discovery and management.

I guess extending schema is still required for client discovery and management. I will check with other experts and see if they agree with me or have a different answer to this.
