PENDING Issue using PXE boot Configuration Manager is looking for policy

I have been having issues with setting up PXE Boot I have the feature enabled and WDS installed letting PXE Boot install it, I had installed it myself first then enabled PXE Boot before but I was getting the same errors so I Disabled PXE Bood uninstalled WDS and then let SCCM install WDS when I re-enabled PXE Boot after rebooting it.
the Boot Image for both X64 and X86 are Distributed and show up under Content Status as 100% compliant.

on the computer, it shows that it starts to talk to the server and then I get a message that states Message from Administrator: Configuration Manager is looking for policy. then it states its contacting the server then moves to boot to next device.

OK im a bit configued on how to tell my ADK version , so I looked it up and found that looking at my Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit - Windows 10 version will determine that which is 10.1.18362.1 which according to means im 1903 with a Configuration Manager sitting at 1906 , however when I look at my Build and version listing with BG Info it states Version 1607 Build 14393. any idea which is true?

Your log's saying that boot image needs to be updated, instinctively I'd ask if you updated the DP's with the new ADK when you installed it.

sorry for this question but I'm basically self teaching myself via videos and a lot of trial and error so im trying to understand your statement, I have updated SCCM sins I first installed it but did not know how to update the Boot images the x64 and x86 from what I understand I should just go to the boot images section right-click on each one and click update distribution point and check of the Reload this boot image with the current Windows PE version from the Windows ADK , is that correct?

ok after doing the steps I got passed the black screen and it started to load Windows PE but then it reboots after about a second and then I get the black screen with configuration manager is looking for policy and then pxe boot aborted booting to next device.

I tried rebuilding the task sequence just it was somehow linked to an old version ob the boot image but after I did that now I don't even get the Windows PE screen it just throws back Configuration manager is looking for policy after it starts the Download WDSNBP form the server and marks it as a X64.

I deployed it to the All Unknown Computers default device collection, which had me disable PXE boot and uninstall WDS and Delete the RemoteInstall folder and then after reboot re-enable PXE boot then let it re-install WDS and the boot images
then I switched to a different computer and now getting different logs.

i kept reading SSL. is secure boot enabled? also on the Distribution Point role properties setting, is the option "Enable unknown computer support" selected?

Enable unknown computers is selected, I dont believe secure boot is enabled can you tell me where to check that in SCCM so I can make shure and I'll check it asap.

Oye chico! The site has a nice function to attach text files to posts rather than dumping 30 paragraphs to the page. :)

Now that you're past the whole non-updated ADK issue, ensure:
Basic DHCP is setup.
The PXE options are setup in DHCP.
Your CM site is configured to use PXE.
The last boot image you updated to the DP is the one you want to serve via PXE.
The TS you want to serve is set as Available, deployed to Unknown Comupters, and scheduled to start at a time +12h in the past.
The target system has no existing device object in CM.
The target system is booting in a manner compatible with what the TS is expecting.

I hate this "error". Been seeing it occur as a result of not configuring CM in a way that's not documented well.

the only thing I have not checked off on your list is the +12Hr sins it won't let me put a time before I deployed it so I need to wait every time I rebuild the task and I rebuilt the task yesterday afternoon.

"+12h in the past." is to say "greater than 12 hours in the past" so that 's been more than 12 hours since the time for it to become available.

Rebuild the deployment, for scheduling reduce the day -1 and increase the hour +1, that will make it be available as of 23 hours ago. You won't have to wait 23 hours, it should be available immediately, which is what you'd think "as soon as possible" does but...

Don't think it was ever asked... are you setting the option for "Make available to the following" to something with PXE in it for the deployment options?
