You need a supported Windows Server OS and install few prerequisites and you are good to install the DP role. You must also ensure you have an additional drive for storing the content because the clients download the content from DP.
In this article, I will show you how to set up or install SCCM distribution point. We will look at ConfigMgr DP Installation and Configuration from scratch.
Thanks Prajwal, Sorry I posted question wrong, what I meant to ask is lets say if there is a remote site what things to be considered to install a dp or pull dp and also bandwodth requirements
How many users are there in the remote site ?. If there are just few users, you could point to main DP provided the bandwidth is good and avoid setting up local DP. If there are many users (50+) setting up a local DP makes sense.
Now coming to configuring the Pull DP, you can allow the new DP to download the content from nearest available DP instead of downloading the content from main DP. For more info refer this post - https://www.prajwaldesai.com/sccm-pull-distribution-point-settings/
