SOLVED In Place upgrade from Win 7 Ent to Win 10 Ent

Hi All,

Hope All are safe and doing good.
I am trying to upgrade Win 7 Ent Ver. 6.1.7601.17514 to Win 10 Ent Ver.10.0.18362.418 but it is not working .

I have tried with Different- Different Win 10 Versions but not working .

Win 10 Ver. tried

10.0.18362.418
10.0.15063.0
10.0.17763.1

Guys Please help me on this.

Please also advice what i need to take care before inplace the Win 7 from Win 10.
Pre-requisites for Win 7 and Win 10 .

Which OS versions only works for the Win 7 and Win 10 to inplace upgrade.

Hi @Pratik Mewada, in the log file I see the following error - Windows Setup failed with hexadecimal exit code 0xC1900204 (decimal 3247440388). To identify the type of issue, lookup it against the table of known values of Windows Setup errors online.

Reset Windows Update Elements to fix the 0xc1900204 error
1. Open Command Prompt (Admin)
2. Type the following commands and press Enter after each:

1. net stop bits
2. net stop cryptSvc
3. net stop msiserver
4. net stop wuauserv

3. Type the next two commands and press Enter after each one:

1. ren C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
2. ren C:\\Windows\\System32\\catroot2 Catroot2.old

4. Finish the procedure by typing the final commands and pressing Enterafter each:

1. net start bits
2. net start cryptSvc
3. net start msiserver
4. net start wuauserv

5. Enter Exit and restart your computer.

This shall help solve your problem.
