PENDING Image Completes but will not boot to windows

Hello,

We have a strange issue where we can image a Windows 10 computer but when it's done to does not boot to Windows. We deploy the image via PXE or Software Center. The computer will reboot, start in PE, download the boot.wim reboot and install the default applications. After reboot it goes to a black dos screen and says to select boot media or boot disk could not be found.

It does it with different models and different manufacturers. We are using the base windows image from the CD without modification.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's strange. What are the steps in TS after installing apps ?. Can you show us how your TS looks ?.

Thanks for replying. It's nothing funky. After the install applications part we have a computer reboot that goes to the default OS. The apps are also just standard office, .net and a couple of little on offs we use.

I also did try removing the restart computer step in the TS which does the same thing since after the app install it reboots. We just added the reboot to update the GPO and show us that it's complete.

Adding to this, it's almost like the partitioning is somehow goofy. Even though it does partition and get the WIM and Install the apps, it's like something in the record does not let it boot.
I'd compare it to leaving a flash drive in the PC and rebooting, the BIOS tries to boot to the flash drive and sees no OS and then tanks out and says no os or boot ____ found.

It's strange.

But even after removing the restart step, if this happens then I assume the issue could be with somewhere else.

Your TS (from the screenshot) looks really simple. Have you modified anything in partition disk step ?.

I attached screen shots from the reboot, and partition steps. All of them should be "default".

We need to find out the root cause and examine why this is happening. Can you create a new TS, exclude install apps step and restart step and check if it works.

Created a new TS as suggested and same issue. Installs the WIM does the "setup" reboots and fails load the OS.
