Hello All,

I am trying to deploy Windows 7 OSD through Task sequence.

On Hyper-V I have created VM and boot from network.

Client picks up IP address from DHCP, and downloads boot file from SCCM. On the task sequence wizard after giving the password, it looks for policy for this computer and gives the below error message.

Failed to run Tasksequence, an error occurred while retrieving policy for this computer, (0x80004005).

Attached error screen shot. I did not find SMSTS.log file.

Unfortunately mate without smsts.log no one can help ya, hit F8 and navigate to x:\Windows\temp\smsts.log. You'll find more information there for sure.

Found the logs by hitting F8 and navigate to x:\Windows\temp\smsts.log
1, Verified BIOS date and time.
2. Found the logs and it pointed the issue to DNS. After changing the DNS value in DHCP options the issue was fixed.
