I am currently working on client health remedy. I came across couple of machines where the SCCM client is installed but the status is inactive.
I tried running discovery data collection cycle from action tool few responded but few are not, log file shows "Failed to open to WMI namespace '\\.\root\cimv2'", tried rebuilding the WMI by renaming the old repository, reinstalling the client(re-installation failing) . I checked a lot of forum but found no solution. any suggestion would be highly appreciated. I am bit frustrated.

You have to check the reason for inactive status.why it's not connecting with MP. Check you location service.log ,
Clientidmanagerstartup.log

Clientidmanagerstartup.log shows "Failed to open to WMI namespace '\\.\root\ccm' (80041014)". Possible WMI failure ?

Hi there,
Try to do wbm test to check if any wmi issue. Try to access mp using URL.
Check firewall ports are opened .it may cause communication issue to MP

Hello Gokul, I need to work in this machines from back-end through psexec(cannot RDP directly in the machines), so is there any way I can check the WMI health from CMD? Sorry if this is a very stupid question. MP is pingable and accessible.

Hi There,
U can check the wmi from primary server.type wbemtest from run.
\\server-ip\root\cimv2.
Instead of server ip mention your hostname or ip of machine..make sure that admin$ is accessible. And port should opened for mp communication

Not aware of the credentials. Can we ping it from CAS or do I have to be in primary?
