Hello,

I have created multiple distribution points for our branch offices, locally. But, when I check the locationservices log on the computer, it is still showing that it is pointing to the main DP. Any ideas why?

have a look at boundary and boundary group. in a nutshell you need to set up this boundary (ip range or subnet or site) to go to this DP etc

Hello there, check the boundary and cross check if the Dp has been mapped with the boundary and remove your primary DP

Also note that
- DP should be reachable always
- Always better to create boundary based on IP range

Thank you for the replies. I have created a boundary for that site and a group for it based on AD site. Should I use IP range instead?

So, I pushed an application to a machine and left the boundary set to AD site. When I checked the locationservices log and the ContentTransferManager log. It appeared to have updated and use the local DP. I always thought that the DPs would update without me having to push something to the client...no?
