Hi to All

I have a domain with Windows 2008 R2 functional level and 2 domain controller using Windows 2012 R2 operating system So I decided to deploy DFS to my SYVOL DOMAIN.

After the deployment process end I have realized the SYSVOL folder still showing but no SYSVOL_DFRS folder appear. What is wrong with it?

Could anyone help me about?

Same process I still using in a a different domain with functional level like Windows 2008 R2 and it has 3 DC with O.S. using Windows 2008 R2 and the result was possitve, I mean they got SYSVOL_DFRS folder.

Please, give me any clue about how troubleshoot it. I was applying so many technical articles published with no success

Thanks in advanced

Manuel

Hi Prajwal,

My domain have 2 DCs (Windows 2012 S.O.). Could you tell me what are the steps to enable DFS for SYSVOL in Windows 2012 R2 ? The reason for my question is none of them have a SYSVOL_DFSR folder... All of them have a SYSVOL folder.

One important point to recall is my DCs are not part of any migration from W 2008 R2.

In addition, I think the answer to my question for now is:

"You are not supposed to get a SYSVOL_DFSR folder on new DCs (e.g DCs that are being added after the migration from FRS to DFSR)"

What do you think about it?, is it true or false?

Thanks in advanced

Manuel
