Tomorrow night we are going from a os 2102 R2 and Sql 2012 Database. We have spun up a new vm with server 2019 and sql 2019. My question is, do we need to convert the database from sccm to 2019 once it is restored to the new server? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by convert it? do you mean set the db compatibility level? Don't forget to do a site reset. Also you will need to reinstall SSRS. And don't "kill" the old server until you confirm everything is working correctly. Including SSRS, SUP, etc.

Thanks Garth. I just meant will our existing environment read the database on a 2019 sql server if we don't convert the database to 2019? Hope that makes sense. Correct the db compatibility level.
