NEW Change device category in SCCM with PowerShell or WMI

Does anyone know if it's possible to change a device category in SCCM remotely using PowerShell or via WMI? There's plenty of articles on how to change a devices category manually using the console, but little to no mention on how to do this remotely with PowerShell. Part of our offloading process is to set a device to a category for inactive devices, and we're trying to automate the process so we don't have to go into the console and change the device category manually every time. Any help would be appreciated.
