Hi,

I forgot to install WSUS before I installed SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. I have install SQL 2014 and SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 on my Virtual Windows Server 2012 R2. When I install SCCM, I named the database name is CM_XYZ. Now I just installed WSUS on the same server (Server 2012R2). It automatically generated database SUSDB in SQL Database. How do I change the database name in SCCM so that I can use SCCM to deploy Windows Updates. I ran synchronization in WSUS and see all the Windows Updates; however, I don't see anything in SCCM Manager Console. Thank you for your help!

Hi Hanson,
Can you explain with more details? I don't get you.

Did you integrate between WSUS & SCCM?
Did you installed SUP Role on SCCM?
Did you configured it correctly ?

Thank you for your reply, Melprince.
As the guide for the SCCM Installation, I should not configure WSUS Role after installed it. All these roles are in the same server. My server OS is Windows Server 2012 R2. I build this server as my SCCM 2012R2 SP1. So, I added all necessary roles and features (WSUS Role is one of them which I forgot to installed it first before installed SCCM). How do I integrate WSUS & SCCM? What's SUP Role? WSUS Role?

Hi Hanson,
As I Understood, That you implement SCCM 2012 R2 SP 1 with all necessary roles + SQL on the same server. and you installed WSUS also , then you did synchronization for updates but you didn't see the updates on SCCM Portal. to do this flow the below steps:
1- after installing WSUS, don't use the wizard which appear at the end of installation to configure WSUS. you must use SCCM for this.
2- You need to install Software Update point Role (SUP) on SCCM server to be able to integrate between SCCM & WSUS.
3- after installation , configure WSUS from SCCM Console.
4- do synchronization from SCCM console, and you can monitor if it is working fine or not.

Thank you.

Melprince,
Thank you so much for your replies. I figured it out by watch Prajwal's videos. I got SCCM integrated with WSUS now. I'm still working on how to sync all the updates that already installed in the clients with SCCM/WSUS. So, SCCM won't search the internet for them (old updates or change the status to "installed" in SCCM).

@Prajwal Thank you for your videos and all posts for everyone in here. I finally for the Updates synchronize. Now, I have a new issue that when I deployed the Windows Update package (in my case, Windows 7 Updates), everything went smooth through out the wizard. However, nothing is happening in the client computers (for testing, I put 2 Windows 7 host in a collection). What did I do wrong? What log should I looking for? I did some reading, and people mention about view the logs in C:\Windows\CCM folder, but I don't see that folder exist in my C drive. Please help!

Is the configuration manager client installed on the client machines ?.

The CM Client was installed. I removed WSUS and reinstalled it. Now, I'm able to get the updates. However, I'm having issue with deployment. The deployment wizard was completed successfully, not the clients did not get any updates.

You need to troubleshoot why the clients did not get the updates. Have you created ADR for deploying updates ? If no how did you deploy the updates ?.
