Hi,
I'm beginner in a world of SCCM.
When I open Software Center, in Updates section, I see 6 updates for this pc, Windows 11 23H2 *2024-09 Cumulative update...* and some updates for Office 2016...
Then I click on Install All (while I'm at this button, do user have to explicitly click on this button? I thought that it goes automatically....)
anyway,
all 6 updates gets status "Downloading (0% complete)" and stuck like this for some time....
then one by one update start getting "Failed" status.
This is where begins my search ho to resolve this issue....
I've located on my client machine Windows 11 23H2, on C:\Windows\CCM\Logs\DeltaDownload.log, with CMTrace.exe...
inside this log I found this error code: "0x80004005"
Now, I know that this specific "0x80004005" error code is the worst error code because doesn’t give any meaningful info..
But, I need to start from somewhere.

Can anyone help?
Thanks

I see this error appearing frequently in the log. Failed download ranges, return code = 0x80004005
Have you configured the boundary for your clients, and is a DP assigned to the BG? Make sure you configure the boundary as IP address range.

first, thank for your reply Prajwal!
how can I check this settings that you've mentioned? I must repeat, I'm total beginner in this field....

The mistake "Failed download ranges, return code = 0x80004005" frequently denotes a problem with client boundaries or distribution point configuration. To enable successful downloads, make sure your IP address ranges are configured correctly for the clients and that a distribution point is allocated to the right border group.

Hi Guys,
I frequently see this error in the log: "Failed download ranges, return code = 0x80004005." Have you set up the boundary for your clients, and is a DP assigned to the BG? Ensure the boundary is configured as an IP address range. Double-check these settings to resolve the issue.
