SOLVED Best practice for creating SCCM Device Collections

I am in the process of building a new SCCM server and wanted to find out the best way to create a device collection what is the best practice?

Configuration Manager contains several built-in collections. There is no best practice as such and it all depends on how you want to group the devices to manage them. More info here.

To give you an idea, you can create a device collection for each computers with "Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 10 LTSB, Windows Server 2016, SQL Server 2016...".

You can make the same for applications, OU, Active Directory Site, PC with active client...
