PENDING Application upgrade using ConfigMgr

Hi Experts
I have deployed an exe application(App5.5) using sccm, , the version i have deployed is 5.5 and now i want to upgrade it to 7. Experts guide me on this as how to proceed.

You can upgrade or replace existing applications by using a supersedence relationship, when you supersede an application, you specify a new deployment type to replace the deployment type of the superseded application.
