Hi,

I hope everyone is well. Newbie question so apologies in advance.

We inherited an SCCM setup version 2309, let's call it SMSSITECODE=A. In the main it works great but as a learning curve we thought we would create a new setup using version 2403, let's call it SMSSITECODE=Bso we could learn and document the installation and configuration. The installation of 2403 has gone well. Now comes are problem - Boundaries.
We understand Boundaries across multiple setups can cause major problems and doesn't work, I was just wondering if there was anyway of declaring a specific IP so we can pull one of the existing VM's in to the new setup?

SMSSITECODE A currently maintains VM PLUTO n.nn.nn.nnn which is in a boundary/boundary group on version 2309. Is there anyway of moving VM PLUTO n.nn.nn.nnn to SMSSITECODE B. SMSSITECODE B has the same boundary/groups.

When we discovery VM PLUTO in SMSSITECODE B it wont do any downloads even if we Block on SITE A.

We can't change any IP ranges.

Just trying to pull a few existing VM's in to the new setup to get Microsoft and AV updates.

Hopefully that makes some sense :-)

Thanks again,
Sean

Are you only using IP Ranges for your Boundaries? if so, Edit the Range to exclude the ip of that device, you might need to create two IP Ranges in ConfigMgr.

Also, you don't need to adjust boundaries if you only want to assign the computer to the second site. it just means that the computer will use the default boundary group services.

Thanks Garth,
Yes we use IP Ranges, just with gateway and mask. Not IP specific with a start/finish IP - can try that but we want to do a controlled move of various servers which could get messy.
We did force the server to point to the second site, but it wouldn't download any patches etc. Is that what you mean?
Cheers
