Hi ,
Our organization want to remove SMB port for every servers from firewall So, I am concurred about it because 445 is using for file share and it mandatory for SCCM.
They are saying to me to search any alternate port in place of SMB(445).
Kindly give me your suggestion guys it will really helpful

This is a question that you should be posting to your Microsoft TAM. As they can help you understand the implication of this.

in the meantime, review the online docs for port and what they are used for. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/ports
Hi Garth,
Thank you for share the important link.
Microsoft TAM is not available in our organization
We checked already and we have discussed with our network teams but still they are planning to remove SMB port.
This is my concern.

To be honest, are you going to trust anything this important with the random words of anyone on the internet? If I was management, I wouldn't. I would want office microsoft standpoint on this topic. If you don't have a TAM, then it says that IT is not important to your company.

There is nothing more that you can do but point the security team to the official docs. If they do it anyways then wait until things break and have management fix it.

Personally, I would start looking for a new job.
