PENDING SCCM distmgr log Errors

Hi

I have noticed I have lots of the below errors in DISTMGR.log

Failed to find DP properties for DP with ID - 1170
Thread_ProcessDPActions() failed with error code - 0x80004005

I have searched for a DP with ID 1170 but it doesn't exist. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Currently have version 2111 installed.

Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\distmgr.box and check if you can find a file with that ID.

Can you try deleting that one file and see if the issue resolves.

Deleting 1170.CF4 has resolved the issue....Do you know why this happens and why the file type is different?

What do you mean it doesn't exist? Did you remove the DP from the CM console?

The DP ID reported in the DISTMGR.log doesn't exist in the list of distribution points. I manage a combination of 700+ DPs (some pull DPs) and I'm constantly deleting and installing roles daily when troubleshooting issues.

Wondering what would of caused these errors to appear to allow me to avoid this in the future as the DP IDs shown in the errors posted are using threads unnecessarily

if you are removing a DP that could cause the problem as they will be a delay particularly if you have CAS or secondary sites.
